Company history
VoxSurf was founded in 1999 by two technical architects
who, in their previous jobs at Accenture (then Andersen
Consulting), had become specialists at adding value to
the systems of their clients. Andy Munarriz and Marco
Santulli knew it was only a matter of time before all
telecoms providers migrated to Internet Protocol (IP)
technology, and when they discovered VoiceXML, the voice-control
mark-up language developed by AT&T, IBM, Lucent and
Motorola, they felt sure it would become the standard
interface for mobile messaging worldwide.
Where are we now?
VoxSurf is based in London, England but our clients
are situated worldwide. They include telecoms service
providers such as mobile and fixed-line operators, competitive
local exchange carriers (CLECs), mobile virtual network
operators (MVNOs) and Internet service providers (ISPs),
seeking to deliver modular communication services to
both the enterprise and consumer markets. We now offer
a range of products based on VxOne, our Next Generation
Voicemail and advanced messaging platform.
Why are we the leaders in our field?
VoxSurf was the first company to realise the importance
of VoiceXML in the mobile messaging market, and in particular
its role in the future success of IP-based systems.
We were early members of the VoiceXML Forum, the VoiceXML
Conformance Committee and the W3C Voice Browser Working
group. And we have accomplished many VoiceXML firsts,
including the development and deployment of voice-controlled
voicemail and the first VoiceXML-based email reader.
